Ingredients
- 3 kg sweet black grapes
- 2 kg sugar
- 500 g water
- Juice of one lemon
Preparation
Grape jam does not require complex preparation methods. It is prepared like any fruit jam.
Start by washing the grapes thoroughly, in bunches. Do not remove the berries before washing because there is a possibility of water penetrating into them.
After washing, leave the grapes to drain in a sieve, then separate the berries from the clusters. When you have the grapes separated and well drained of water, you can prepare the syrup.
How to prepare syrup for black grape jam
Pour water in a saucepan with double base, then add the sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat and allow the sugar to melt and mix with the water without stirring. When the sugar is completely diluted, reduce the heat to low and simmer the syrup for about 20 minutes.
Add the grapes to the syrup and stir gently. Simmer the jam over low heat until the grapes are set and the syrup turns thick. During boiling, remove the foam forming on the surface with a thick sieve.
