5 things the universe wants you to give up in 2022

Give up several harmful habits and change your life in 2022.

1. Stop judging yourself and those around you

The direct path to unhappiness? Be extremely hard on yourself and judge yourself non-stop. This practice prevents you from reaching your full potential and has enormous destructive power. Stop focusing on your weaknesses and try to develop your strengths.

As for the habit of judging other people, there seems to be no obvious connection between judging others and your own happiness. The truth, is, however, that there is, and a very powerful one: judgement is a reflection of your inner world. By criticizing other people, you create unnecessary negativity in your life.

2. Let go of guilt, regret, and the past

We all make mistakes – that’s a part of life. But don’t allow these mistakes to get stuck in your mind and influence your future. The only thing you can do is learn from those mistakes and become a better person. If you feel that you have hurt someone, apologize and move on. Don’t allow guilt and regret from the past to destroy your present happiness.

3. Let go of all the comparisons you make

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence. You don’t know others’ story, you don’t know their struggles, you don’t understand their problems. You should never compare yourself to anyone, as you never know what another person is going through. Instead, learn to be grateful for the things you have, and you will realize that there are many reasons why you might not see how beautiful your life is. There are things you have that others don’t. Besides, you are different from everybody else; there is no one is like you. It shouldn’t have an impact on you what other people have or don’t have.

4. Give up all the dreams that no longer represent you and that your soul no longer really wants.

Ideas change, and so do plans, goals and objectives. You don’t have to hold on to things you believed in ten years ago when you no longer have reason to believe in them now. You don’t have to have the same goals you had when you were 20. You are free to change the course of your life, you hold the keys to your destiny in your hands.

When you free yourself from obligations to your past self, you may actually discover new ways to reward the weight you once were. Even as you change, who you are now is a direct consequence of who you were. This process of transformation is beautiful and honors the “then” as much as the “now”.

5. Give up needing others to like, accept and understand you

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t expect respect and appreciation from those closest to you. Friends and people around you don’t have to fully understand you to respect and accept you. They don’t even have to agree with you in all aspects of your life to love you. What matters is that they are there for you and support you.
