Even the ancient Chinese put a lot of emphasis on foot care, as they knew very well that the health-preserving points of all organs are found on the soles of the feet. Let’s see what we can do to stay healthy for a long time!
By strengthening the legs, the feet and the soles of the feet, we can help to stay healthy and young for a long time. Doing the following five exercises regularly will significantly increase your life expectancy and the quality of your life.
1. Walk barefoot in the grass
Walk barefoot as often as you can. Of course, it’s much better to walk barefoot in the grass in the yard, but if you can’t do that, at least do it indoors. Even if the weather is cooler, take off your slippers for at least 10-15 minutes. Do this three times a day and you will live much longer!
2. Walk on your heels and toes
Try to stand on tiptoe as much as possible, then lean back on your heels and lift the front of the foot. This simple exercise is perfect for strengthening the muscles and bones of the feet, as well as improving blood circulation and the functioning of the internal organs. Try it, it’s not difficult at all and it’s a huge benefit for your body!
3. Tapping
Apply light strokes to the area behind the toes with a rubber or wooden mallet, but you can also use your fingers to apply a vibration of appropriate intensity to the sole of the foot. After a while, you will feel a pleasant warmth radiating through the body and a sense of calmness as well. The Chinese consider tapping to be the best way to improve blood circulation not only in the feet but also throughout the body.
4. Yun Quan massage
According to Chinese doctors, it is recommended to massage the Yun Quan point on the feet on a daily basis. This point is located just behind the toes, in the middle of the arch of the feet. Massaging it improves blood circulation and relaxes the leg muscles. This exercise is recommended to be done in the morning and evening.
If dry massage is applied, this point should be pressed 20 times in succession without a break (first on one foot and then on the other).
For a wet massage, pour 38 °C water into a bowl, place your feet in it and wait until they turn red. Using the thumbs on both feet at the same time, start massaging the Yun Quan point 80 times without a break. Finish by rubbing your feet for 3-5 minutes.
5. Alternating shower
A hot and cold water shower is very good for the circulation of the feet and the whole body. This simple method increases the muscle tone in the feet, improves circulation and delays ageing.
