The really delicious hot chocolate has an almost custard-like consistency, and is very filling. It is a warming and rich snack; you don’t need to measure out large servings, because it fills you up in no time.
It is worth using high-quality chocolate for a really delicious result. The following amount is enough for two large mugs or four smaller cups of hot chocolate.
Thick hot chocolate recipe
Ingredients for 4 glasses
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 100 g milk chocolate
- 350 ml milk (3.5 percent fat)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 50 ml whipped cream
- Spices to taste (cinnamon, cloves, grated orange peels, chili)
Whipped cream on top
Mix the milk with the cream and a tablespoon of sugar. Season to taste with cinnamon, cloves, chili, and grated orange peels, then boil up in a saucepan.
Meanwhile, break the chocolate into small pieces and place in a bowl. Pour over the hot milk and stir until the chocolate melts. Add the vanilla flavoring, then taste, and if you don’t find it sweet enough, add a little more sugar.
Divide into small cups or larger mugs, garnish with whipped cream and serve immediately.
