You’ve probably heard of almond milk, cashew milk, coconut milk and so on, but today we have a special milk to present to you – oat milk made from oat flakes.
Oatmeal is an important source of protein and calcium, and it can be used just like other types of milk. It can be added to a lot of dishes, from desserts to vegetarian foods as well as to smoothies and coffee.

Ingredients
- 5-6 heaping tablespoons of oatmeal
- 400 ml mineral water
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- Vanilla (optional)
Preparation
Soak the flakes in water for a few hours or overnight in the cup of a blender, refrigerated. I recommend using whole oatmeal instead of the refined version.
Add salt, honey and vanilla, and blend for 10-20 seconds. Strain the mixture through a not too dense sieve to obtain somewhat thick milk, and serve with cookies or crackers.
Enjoy!
