Leo Rojas is a musician from Ecuador who plays his pan flute with an amazing virtuosity.
He lives in Berlin, Germany with his Polish wife, and he used to earn a living by playing music in the streets. A passer-by became fascinated with his wonderful music and convinced him to participate in one of the most well-known talent shows in Germany.
The Lonely Shepherd Song
In 2011 Leo participated in the fifth season of the competition entitled Das Supertalent, the German version of Britain’s Got Talent, and won the competition. In the final show he chose to interpret The Lonely Shepherd, composed by the late James Last.
The song became a hit in 1977 when James Last performed it along with the pan flute virtuoso Gheorghe Zamfir.
Using his favorite instrument along with other traditional South American musical instruments, Leo Rojas brought tears of emotion into everybody’s eyes. His relatives in Ecuador and everybody present watched him in awe as he played in the dreamlike ambience, and he truly managed to make the performance seem like a dream.
