Don’t miss the season of tasty and aromatic grapes without preserving their taste and flavor in jars for winter. Here’s a recipe for a tasty and very aromatic black grape jam.
Black grapes are higher in vitamins and antioxidants than other grape varieties. One of the most important antioxidants in grapes is called resveratrol, and it has beneficial properties on the cardiovascular system. It also helps to regulate blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of cancer.
Many of the vitamins contained in grapes are found in their skin and seeds. That’s why specialists recommend eating them without removing these two elements. For sweetness, you can opt for a grape variety with fewer seeds, but don’t forget that the seeds also add flavor to the sweetness.
Follow the list of ingredients and steps below to make one of the tastiest and most aromatic jam recipes.
- 3 kg sweet black grapes
- 2 kg sugar
- 500 g water
- Juice of one lemon
Grape jam does not require complex preparation methods. It is prepared like any fruit jam.
Start by washing the grapes thoroughly, in bunches. Do not remove the berries before washing because there is a possibility of water penetrating into them.
After washing, leave the grapes to drain in a sieve, then separate the berries from the clusters. When you have the grapes separated and well drained of water, you can prepare the syrup.
How to prepare syrup for black grape jam
Pour water in a saucepan with double base, then add the sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat and allow the sugar to melt and mix with the water without stirring. When the sugar is completely diluted, reduce the heat to low and simmer the syrup for about 20 minutes.
Add the grapes to the syrup and stir gently. Simmer the jam over low heat until the grapes are set and the syrup turns thick. During boiling, remove the foam forming on the surface with a thick sieve.
