If you regularly wake up in the morning feeling stressed and fatigued, and have little energy to do your daily activities, you need to take a very simple but important step to get your life back on track.

Skin cleansing, facial care, stretching, morning gymnastics and coffee may part of your morning routine, but there is another important thing you need to include into your routine every day for the sake of your health. Entrepreneur and writer Dave Asprey, founder of Bulletproof, author of “Fast This Way”, suggests a very simple step to help you regain peace of mind in the morning.

“When you wake up in the morning, take a pinch of Himalayan sea salt, put it in water, and drink it,” he says.

Water with a small amount of salt is effective in reducing stress, restoring emotional balance, and promoting physical and mental health. However, it is important not to overdo salt consumption!

The stress hormone cortisol affects blood sugar levels and blood pressure and may lead to the development of inflammation in the body. Cortisol reaches its highest level on awakening to provide the energy needed to start the day.

“You need to raise your blood pressure to have enough energy,” Asprey explains. Normally, cortisol provides the energy boost in the morning that you need to get your day off to a good start. But chronic stress increases cortisol levels too much. When salt is used in small amounts, it plays an important role in regulating cortisol levels, thus avoiding anxiety or overload, according to Asprey.

You need the best quality salt

It is important that the salt you choose is of very good quality, such as Himalayan or sea salt. Salts of this type are full of minerals such as iron, magnesium, and zinc, as opposed to ordinary table salt, which experts say is not the most suitable.

You will feel result almost immediately: “You can actually feel better all day from that, and it’s pretty easy to do,” Asprey says.
