A 101-year-old woman adopts the shelter’s oldest cat: they have found a true companion in each other

A 101-year-old woman was looking specifically for the chosen shelter’s oldest cat and her choice was perfect.

When it comes to adopting, most people are interested in kittens just a few months old, but older cats can bring enormous happiness into homes as well.

It’s no coincidence that shelters often recommend adopting cats that are several years old, as they are much calmer than younger ones, and don’t need as much attention.

Adopting older cats

The sad reality is that, despite these efforts, cats that are getting older often have to wait a long, long time before they finally find their forever homes. It’s no wonder that it was a big surprise when somebody visited the North Carolina Animal Shelter looking for the oldest cat.

Penny, a 101-year-old lady, was looking to adopt a companion her own age, and it’s touching how they found the perfect companion in each other.
