Weddings are important events in everyone’s life, and everyone tries to look their best.
Women usually pay a lot of attention to what they wear on such a special occasion, but many may not even realize that if they choose a red dress, they are sending the wrong message.
According to wedding expert Gabrielle Hurwitz, the color red should be avoided at weddings as it is too flashy and can distract from the newlyweds, especially compared to natural colors such as white, beige, black and gray, which are usually the basic colors in any wedding.
In addition, many people may think that it is inappropriate to wear red to church. There’s also a popular belief that a woman who wears red to a wedding may have been having an affair with the groom, and while the expert says this approach can be safely ignored, it still doesn’t hurt to be cautious.
According to Hurwitz, if there is no specific mandatory attire, it is best to choose colors that are not too striking, so beige or gray, for example, can be a good choice. White should also be avoided according to tradition, because it is the color reserved for the bride’s dress.
There is another wedding superstition that many people don’t know about: during married life, the one who steps on the feet of the other half in the church will be the “master of the house”.
