Kodi Lee first appeared on America’s Got Talent in 2019, where he impressed the judges and the audience with his own songs and covers of well-known songs.
Legally blind and autistic, Kodi Lee is a fantastic talent whose first audition has garnered over 300 million views. In 2024, he returned to the show’s stage in the Fantasy League season as a member of Howie Mandel’s team, and on his advice, he performed Queen’s hit Bohemian Rhapsody in his own unique arrangement.
While it’s hard to imagine a version of this song that we haven’t heard before since so many people have covered it over the years, Kodi still managed to show us something new.
Although Heidi Klum and Mel B both commented that they prefer when he performs his own original songs because they really show his individuality, they were both impressed with the production and congratulated the singer.
“We use the word ‘star quality’ a lot, but you genuinely, Kodi, over the years we have got to know you, you’ve just got better as an artist, you’ve never given up and the final just wouldn’t be the same without you in it,” said Simon Cowell.
Kodi Lee not only won over the studio audience, but also the viewers of the show, and the video received countless encouraging and praising comments, with many noting that Freddie Mercury would be proud of him for the way he performed the song.
“Kodi has an amazingly rare talent of being able to sing in different genres of music,” one commenter wrote.
