Homemade ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard

Most products available in grocery stores are choke full of stabilizers, preservatives, sweeteners and additives, all of which are sources of toxins for the human body.

Instead of continuing to purchase condiments you use frequently, prepare them in your own kitchen; this way, you can make sure that they will not affect your health. The following recipes taste better than most brands of ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard you van buy in grocery stores.

Homemade ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard - Ketchup recipe

Ingredients

  • 1000 g tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 10 drops stevia extract
  • 4-5 tablespoons finely chopped onion cubes
  • 3 teaspoons sea salt
  • 4-6 cloves of garlic
  • ½ teaspoon mixed spices to taste
  • ½ teaspoon cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Heat up a small saucepan over medium heat and cook the mixture, stirring continuously, for about 5 minutes. Allow to cool and store in the refrigerator.

Raw tahini mayonnaise

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons tahini paste
  • 4 tablespoons water (preferably mineral water)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (recipe below)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Add more water if the mayonnaise is too thick.

Mustard

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Preparation

Scoop the mustard seeds into a bowl, pour enough vinegar and water to cover and leave to soak overnight.

Transfer the contents of the bowl into a blender. Add the honey, ginger and salt and mix until thickened and homogenized. Add more water if needed.
