These heavenly savory sesame seed sticks are made from kneaded dough with cheese. A little vinegar makes them softer and easier to stretch.
Cheesy sesame seed sticks are a simple yet irresistible snack. A little vinegar makes the dough extra soft and easy to handle. It is best to rest the kneaded dough in the fridge overnight before shaping the sticks.
Ingredients for 4 servings
- 300 g flour
- 250 g soft butter
- 100 g grated cheese
- 6 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon 10% vinegar
- 1 tablespoon salt
For the top
- 1 egg
- Sesame seeds
Preparation
Mix the flour first with the salt, then the soft butter, water, vinegar and finally the grated cheese. Knead it into a smooth dough, wrap it in aluminum foil and place in the fridge overnight to rest.
The next day, roll out on a floured board to a thickness of one centimeter. Brush the top with the beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds and cut into bars of the size you prefer using a sharp knife.
Place the sticks side by side on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in the oven at a 180°C for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
