The scent of cinnamon-caramel pecans, almonds or peanuts create an authentic Christmas atmosphere. Few can resist them, but even fewer prepare them at home, although it is very simple.
Mix the following ingredients in a sealable baking bag:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Break an egg, place the egg white into a large bowl and add two teaspoons of water and ½ teaspoon vanilla flavor. Whisk and then roll in the pecans.
Place the pecans into the baking bag and shake until all cinnamon sugar sticks to the nuts.
Coat a baking pan with cooking oil, add the sugar pecans, and bake at 250 degrees Celsius for about an hour, rotating every 20 minutes.
