David Hasselhoff sings one of the most famous songs in the world, and fans can’t get enough of him

In addition to his acting career, David Hasselhoff also had a successful music career, mainly in Germany and Austria. He achieved his greatest success with his 1989 album Looking for Freedom, the title song of which became a big hit in Europe, reaching the top of the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

On his album “Party Your Hasselhoff”, released in September 2021, he also covered Neil Diamond’s hit “Sweet Caroline”. The song was originally released as a single in 1969.

Diamond offered different explanations for the song’s origins. In a 2007 interview, she stated that the song was inspired by John F. Kennedy’s daughter Caroline, who was 11 years old when the song was released.

However, he already said in 2014 that the song was about his then-wife Marcia, but he needed a three-syllable name to match the tune.

David Hasselhoff has already covered this song once before, on his 2019 album Open Your Eyes, at that time in collaboration with Ministry, an American industrial metal band, but he has already performed the 2021 version alone, in a completely new version, and also a video turned to him.

The song was a huge hit on YouTube with more than 2.6 million views so far.

“I can never tell if the Hoff is serious or joking? But that’s why I always thought it was great! You can’t get enough of this guy – he always puts a smile on your face,” wrote one of his fans.

“Whether you love it or laugh at it, I think that’s why people love the Hoff. He does what he wants and doesn’t care what others think,” wrote another.
